Admission to YES is open to all individuals, 17 years of age or older. Students must provide written proof with their application of their ability to support themselves in the United States, or provide documentation of support provided by a parent or sponsor.

To be considered for a position as a student in the Yosemite English School, the following items must be submitted:

  • 1. A completed YES Application Form.

  • 2. YES Admission, Tuition, and other optional fee payments.

  • 3. Written proof of financial support, such as a bank statement
      The name of the account holder must match the name of the person responsible for tuition & living expense of the student while in the U.S.. A recent Statement must show the amount of $6,000.00 or more in U.S. dollars (issued within the past 6 months).
  • 4. A current health examination report.

      Due to the recent increase of epidemics in U.S., applicants are required to submit a Health Examination Report. Please take the health form to a clinic, and have your doctor complete the form after the examination.

    Students who successfully complete the application process and are accepted by Yosemite English School will receive an I-20 form from Merced College, which is fully authorized to issue this document. The I-20 allows students to study at YES.

    Students who achieve a score of 450 or more on the TOEFL after studying at YES are eligible to apply as an international student at Merced College. It is also possible to audit or take a credit course according to English skill level while studying at YES. YES staff will assist students with the Merced College application process.

    All fees are not refundable. Tuition fee is refundable only when YES receives a written notice of your withdrawal at least one week before the starting of each term.

    Payment should be made by a U.S. check, money order, or travelers check in U.S. dollars payable to the Yosemite English School.
